Oil Spill Detection System

2012-03-12 00:00:00 - Spill International
The Rutter Sigma S6 Oil Spill Detection System can be supplied complete with a Rutter Radar-100S6 optimised transceiver and high speed antenna with horizontal or vertical polarization. Optionally, it can be connected to an existing marine X-band radar in a slave configuration. The system may be used stand-alone or integrated to a thermal-infrared camera. Due to its client/ server design, the system may be controlled remotely and its display viewed from any location connected by LAN. They will display recorded radar data from actual NOFO oil spill trials.

Rutter S6 Oil Spill Detection System

The Rutter sigma S6 Oil Spill Detection System accomplishes automatic oil spill detection and tracking by applying a radar target tracker which has been optimized for detecting areal surface “targets”. This method reduces the false alarm rate compared to systems only operating on image processing techniques used by other OSD radar systems. The Rutter sigma S6 Oil Spill Detection System provides automatic detection, outlining and tracking of oil spills from a moving vessel.

Rutter will during Interspill 2012 also exhibit its enhanced radar systems for polar navigation and ice monitoring and small target detection, which is of use to water authorities, oil spill response organizations, coast guards, navies, drilling operators, oil companies, environmental regulatory and monitoring organisations, etc.

Other exhibits will include: radar systems for navigation in ice / ice monitoring, and for surveillance and small target detection. They are used by/of use to: shipping companies, geophysical survey companies, arctic drilling and production operators, coast guards, navies, oceanographic research agencies.
