Interspill Unveils Preliminary Conference Programme
Main conference sessions have various topics, such as oil spill response policy, regulation in dispersant use, cold climate issues, regional preparedness, modelling and risk analysis, monitoring and remote sensing, HNS response, training and logistics.
Short courses on topics such as response, compensation, dispersants, cold climate, wild life and communications are to take place on Monday 12th March from organisations like IMO, IOPC, OSR, ITOPF and consultants.
A science workshop is scheduled on 13th and 14th March, led by CEDRE. Workshops are organised on the exhibition floor with subjects including oil weathering, understanding chemicals; Oil spill drife modelling, spill detection and tracking and spill management systems.
On 14th March, delegates are welcome to attend the Offshore Forum, with speakers from the EU, UK, NOAA and EMSA. DECC is digging into the UK regime after the Macondo disaster and IPIECA presents on technical issues, plans and progress. Perry & Panton puts the spotlights on communications and social media.
A Spill Industry Seminar is pinned down for 14th and 15th March, where the industry is showing the latest technologies and services on the exhibition floor.
Social events are planned on 13th March: a fish and chips supper at the Fox and lunch time lectures and debates on the exhibition floor on 13th and 14th March.
