Gasoline Clean-up

2012-01-23 15:49:40 - Spill International
On Thursday 12th January 2012 at around 10:45 p.m., Sunoco Pipeline, USA, was forced to shut down pipeline valves due to a rupture. An estimated 125,000 gallons of gasoline had leaked and displaced 70 residents from their trailer park community in Wellington, USA. C.I.Agent Solutions, USA, was asked to assist in the clean-up using some of its gasoline spill containment products, namely C.I.Agent Sheen Boom and the C.I.Agent EVAC Filtration System.

After the 8-inch pipeline ruptured, gasoline started spilling into a nearby gravel parking lot and then spread into White Ditch Creek, but the spill could be prevented from reaching the Black River and the city's sewage treatment plant.

Residents will be able to return to their homes once the gasoline has safely been removed by local Wellington firefighters and workers from Sun Pipeline, a subsidiary of Sunoco, and the Environmental Protection Agency deems the area to be safe.
