UK MCA Appoints new Hydrography Manager

The UK's Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has appointed André Cocuccio as their new Hydrography Manager. André officially took the helm of the MCA's Hydrography section at the end of April 2011.

Formerly the Marine Resources Manager at Hanson Aggregates Marine, André has over 10 years' geophysical and hydrographic survey experience. He joined the MCA in 2008 to oversee technical research and development in support of the UK Civil Hydrography Programme (CHP).

 

In his new role, André will head-up the MCA's Hydrography Branch and represent the Agency at national and international level. He will lead the development of a national hydrographic strategy and be the principle specialist responsible for directing both the CHP and European seabed mapping project INIS Hydro.

 

André holds a BEng (Hons) degree in Industrial Geology from the University of Exeter and an MSc in Oceanography from the University of Southampton. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society and a corporate member of The Hydrographic Society UK.
