Third Multitasking Vessel Joins GEO.xyz Fleet
GEOSURVEYOR VI has a MCA cat. 2 certificate, for operations 60 nautical miles from safe haven. She has a LOA of 12.5m, a beam width of 4.95m and a draught of 1.00m. Powered by twin IVECO 450 BHP diesel engines, the vessel achieves a top speed of 25 knots at 2600 rpm and a cruising speed of 20 knots at 2100 rpm.
The hull design has an ultra fine deep "V" section, which reduces slamming to a minimum and which helps to keep the vessel on a more level altitude. This is an aide to both survey works and for crew transfers, while maximising fuel efficiency.
All kind of geophysical survey can be executed with Geosurveyor VI as she can be equipped with the multi-beam echo sounders of GEO.xyz like R2Sonc 2022 & 2024, Simrad EM3002, Reson 8125 & Reson 8101 or the single-beam echo souders: Simrad EA400, Navisound, Odom. Side scan sonar surveys can be made using the Klein 3900, Reson 8101 Side scan option. Magnetometer survey systems that can be applied are Marine Magnetics Seaspy & Explorer. For subbottom profiling, several in-house systems are available, such as Silas SB10. Geosurveyor IV is prepared for data processing and cleaning on board.
Depending on the working area, different kind of positioning systems can be installed on the vessel.
The wheelhouse has been enlarged from previously supplied vessels, providing more space and comfort for passengers. Also, the cabin is installed with a survey desk, a small kitchenette, a wet clothes room, toilet and shower.
