Smart Hydrophone Demo at OB
The ethernet leverages the flexibility of networks/internet allowing the user to listen in the ocean next to the instrument, or from the other side of the world. Multiple users can access the instrument at once. This standard interface provides built-in isolation, fast data, and lets the user configure icLISTEN LF using a browser.
Users of icLISTEN LF can create large hydrophone arrays using a new ethernet standard, the IEEE 1588 Precision Timing Protocol. This protocol synchronises the instruments to within 2µs, putting all recorded data on a common time reference. Up to 32GB of storage is available, along with configurable acoustic signal processing and ultra low power (125mW). This instrument is suited for seismic signal band listening.
Instrument Concepts will be located on the Atlantic Canadian stand at Ocean Business. During the event Instrument Concepts will be giving a demonstration on Intelligent Digital Hydrophone demonstrating real-time processing and recording, and a presentation on ocean-bottom pipeline leak detection using acoustics. The company will also be previewing its HF general acoustic Smart Hydrophone with acoustic band from 2Hz to 200,000Hz.
