Side-scan Sonar Training for Law Enforcement

Black Laser Learning has opened the registration for their January 2012 live two-day side-scan sonar training seminar for law enforcement personnel. The event is open to law enforcement and marine rescue personnel, is being organised in cooperation with the Lowndes County Sherriff's office, and will be held at Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia, USA, on 11th and 12th January 2012.  

Participants can expect day one of the event to be spent in the classroom, learning the principles of sonar operations, with  laymen's explanations of procedures and example sonar images. Day two will consist of hands-on training on the water including simulated drowning victim location, crime scene/accident mapping, and other law enforcement sonar techniques. Certificates will be issued upon completion.

Instructor Vince Capone has over 25 years of sonar experience, has taught law enforcement, US Navy, and US Navy SPAWAR personnel, and has worked with the FBI and the Department of Justice. The deadline for online registration is Thursday, 22^nd December 2011.
