Hydrographer Appointment in The Netherlands

On September 1st 2011 Captain F. (Floor) de Haan has transferred the position of Chief Hydrographer of the Royal Netherlands Navy to Captain N. (Peter) Kortenoeven. Captain Kortenoeven previously, 2009-2011, worked as staff officer maritime planning at NATO in Brussels.
Captain de Haan has occupied the function of Chief Hydrographer for more than 5 years. The new position of De Haan will be deputy director of communications.
The Hydrographic office of the Royal Netherlands Navy has been charged by the government with the issue off official nautical charts (paper and digital) and hydrographic publications. The Hydrographic office furthermore advises national and international authorities on nautical cartography, geodesy, tides, positioning and maritime boundaries.
