The three-day conference and exhibition Global Gas is to take place from 19th to 21st September 2011 at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre, in Perth. With two Western Australia government ministers scheduled to speak in the Global Gas Trading & Technology 2011 conference; an event technical tour to one of the most relevant of venues; conference abstracts received from over ten countries; and increasing interest from prospective exhibitors, there is strong proof of the wisdom of holding the inaugural event in this new series in the rapidly growing powerhouse of Western Australia.

Both The Hon Norman Moore, Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Fisheries; Electoral Affairs and The Hon Peter Collier, Minister for Energy; Training and Workforce Development, Government of Western Australia, will deliver keynote addresses when they visit the inaugural Global Gas Trading & Technology 2011 conference and exhibition on 20th and 21st September 2011.

The Department of Commerce is organising a technical tour during the show to the Australian Marine Complex, (AMC) a world-class centre for excellence for manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, maintenance and technology servicing the marine, defence, oil and gas, and resource industry.

Tony Stephenson’s colleague, Vanessa Hurrell, Conference Director of VNT Events, has received abstracts from ten countries, for the conference with its theme "Impact and Effects of the Emerging Markets on Global Gas and its Established Players"; and the Conference Executive Committee, under the chairmanship of Paul C Young, Chief Marketing Officer of Exmar NV, will shortly review and vote on the papers.   Authors will be notified of the status of their submitted abstract during March 2011.

“With sessions on Australia No.1 or No.2 (Projects); Short-term supply & trading arbitrage; Securing long-term supply in a complex geopolitical environment; Remuneration & litigation (finance, fiscal issues & governing laws); Floating LNG; Is shipping relevant?; Unconventional gas – myth or reality?, and Environment & sustainable development, we have a compelling and highly relevant conference planned,” says Vanessa Hurrell. “We will also be looking at the whole issue of the skills shortage and combining that session with our pro-active graduate programme. And, knowing the importance of networking, our delegates and exhibitors can be confident that there will be plenty of time to meet up with old, and new, acquaintances during the three days.

The associated exhibition is rapidly taking shape, with exhibitors from four continents reserving space, features include designated pavilions for Health & Safety, Environmental solutions and Instrumentation and Automation, providing SMEs specialising in these areas with a focused exhibitor point.
