CoastGIS 2011 Well Received

The 2011 edition of CoastGIS has been concluded on 8th September 2011. The conference on spatial data infrastructure has been taking place this week in Ostend, Belgium, and has attracted close to 120 delegates from 31 countries. Presentation topics included research, marine SDI and GIS.
At the conclusion, the date for the next edition has been announced for June 2012 at the University of Victoria, Victoria, BC, Canada.
Chairman Ron Furness expressed in his closing address the conference as having been 'overwhelmingly international', looking at the various countries the delegates were coming from.
The conference was accompanied by an exhibition where business showcased their products and services. The conference and tradeshow were appreciated by the delegates.
